Participants in the 9th National Defence Course completed virtual international visits to (the United States of America, Germany, France, the European Union, NATO, Pakistan, and Japan) from March 14th to March 25th, 2022, in order to learn from these countries’ experiences in the political, economic, military, and informational aspects of national and regional security. As well as how to deal with various potential challenges, and informing participants of the importance of these countries and their impact on regional and international stability. In addition to identifying the state power tools in each of them and how to manage these tools to maintain their security and national interests.
The annual international visits organized by NDC for its participants as part of its academic curriculum aims to introduce participants to current and future areas of cooperation with the UAE, as well as assessing the impact of geography, history, and culture on national decision-making in the host countries, comparing the UAE's national security challenges to those faced by these countries, and analyze how to develop and implement their respective power tools to support their national interests.
At the conclusion of the virtual international visits, participants presented an analytical summary of the visits based on the field studies conducted during the visits, highlighting the strategic lessons learned supported by the most important recommendations related to the visits program.
It should be noted that due to the developments regarding the Corona pandemic (Covid-19), it was not possible to actually carry out the visits, and it was carried out virtually by means of video communication, in accordance with the regulations and instructions issued in this field.
