H.E Eng. Mohammed Bin Ahmed Abdul Aziz Al Shehhi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy for Economic Affairs, delivered a lecture to the NDC Course 2018-2019 participants on Monday, January14, 2019 entitled "Economic Strategies of the UAE" at the College's headquarters.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry was received by Staff Pilot Major General Rashad Mohammad Salem Al-Saadi, Commandant of the National Defence College, and a number of officers and commanders of the wings.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry started his lecture by mentioning its themes, most notably the UAE vision 2021, where the economy is a national priority in the vision that seeks to achieve a knowledge-based competitive economy based on innovation. He explained that the economy will witness major global transformations, and the UAE will be at the core of these transformations, as well as it will take the lead on global economic entrepreneurship.
Al-Shehhi pointed out that the Ministry of Economy has set nine main objectives for its economic plan to achieve advanced results covering all sectors related to the economy and industry in the country. These objectives focus on giving importance to industries or non-oil sectors that will undoubtedly contribute to growth required for future years and generations.
He added that thanks to the guidance of our wise leadership, the UAE has now become a model for implementing policies to reduce dependence on oil, in addition to all the components of security, stability, happiness, tolerance, quality of life and the global leadership of the UAE in economic entrepreneurship. The investment and financial flows internally and externally over the past years is an evidence of the success of the UAE's strategic economic plan.
At the end of the lecture, he expressed his thanks to the audience and accommodated their questions.
