The National Defence College hosted Her Excellency Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, to deliver a lecture titled "The UAE's Strategy in the Field of Climate Change, Environmental Protection, and Food and Water Security" on Thursday, January 9th, 2025 at the College's headquarters.

Her Excellency was welcomed by Staff Brigadier General Saeed Hassan Al-Yamahi, Commandant of the National Defence College, Deputy Commander and Wing Commanders.

Her Excellency the Minister of Climate Change began her lecture to 12th National Defense Course 2024-2025 participants by expressing her gratitude to the National Defence College for hosting and providing the opportunity to shed light on the UAE's strategy in the field of climate change, environmental protection, water and food security, and its role in promoting climate and environmental sustainability as a national security that is needed in the era of conflicts in the world and related to vital environmental resources in countries.

Her Excellency explained that the UAE works for its own sake and for the world, as it has proven its leadership in many important global topics for discussion on global platforms.

Her Excellency Dr. Amna Al Dahak pointed out that the UAE is working to enhance its soft power by building strong relations with many countries in many fields.

She also pointed out that the UAE seeks to achieve the goals set through national strategies developed to confront these changes to protect nature and implement initiatives in solidarity and cooperation with the local, regional and global community.

In her lecture, which was characterized by diversity in presentation and discussion, Her Excellency added that the UAE always seeks, with the participation of the parties, to achieve and embody the ambitious visions of the wise leadership in taking the initiative to ensure sustainable water and food security as an indispensable necessity in the UAE and the world, provided that the UAE is the best in development indicators in the world.

Her Excellency the Minister of Climate Change and Environment indicated that sustainability in its comprehensive concept is not just a development necessity, but rather a pillar of national security, and expressed metaphorically that the train of sustainability in the UAE will not stop, but will continue its march steadily and realistically, committed to the vision of the UAE and its leadership aimed at achieving its leadership in focusing on its global goals and efforts in this field.

In conclusion, Her Excellency signed in the guestbook of the National Defence College, after which Staff Brigadier General Saeed Hassan Al-Yamahi, Commandant of the National Defence College, presented a commemorative gift to Her Excellency thanking her for her valuable lecture that enriched the strategic thinking of the 12th National Defence Course 2024-2025 participants.
