The National Defence College hosted His Excellency Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, to deliver a lecture titled "The UAE's Policy and Strategy for Foreign Trade in a Changing World" on Wednesday, January 29th, 2025 at the College's headquarters, where His Excellency was welcomed by Staff Brigadier General Saeed Hassan Al-Yamahi, Commandant of the National Defence College, Deputy Commander and Wing Commanders.

His Excellency the Minister of State for Foreign Trade began his speech to the 12th National Defence Course participants 2024-2025 by expressing his gratitude the National Defence College for the annual hosting and wishing success upon everyone.

In the introduction to his lecture, His Excellency talked about globalization and its new mini-concept, which is based on certain blocs and its new policy aimed at multipolar investment, in accordance with their national interests before public interests, and the resort of some of these countries to politicize their decisions according to their own interests.

His Excellency Dr. Al Zeyoudi referred to the most important topics on which the UAE's foreign trade policy and investment in order to diversify its economic partnerships and sign agreements that will open new horizons in foreign trade to achieve the beneficial return to the country, including its efforts in climate change and sustainable energy agreements.

In addition to the importance of attracting minds and talents in investment, His Excellency pointed out that the UAE is concerned with this file as it is one of the factors that help promote the economic and commercial growth of countries.

Before opening the floor for questions for the 12th National Defence Course participants 2024-2025, he explained that the UAE's initiatives and success achieved during a short period of time for many countries is the result of the our wise leadership support, and that the continuity and stability achieved for it was due to concerted efforts and policies that support diversification in investment sources, developing partnerships and attracting talents that serve commercial growth and global competitiveness in its various sectors.

At the end of the lecture, Staff Brigadier General Saeed Hassan Al-Yamahi, Commandant of the National Defence College, presented a commemorative gift to His Excellency in appreciation of the valuable information he provided that enriched the strategic thinking of the participants of the 12th National Defence Course 2024-2025.
