On Thursday, January 16th, 2025, the National Defence College hosted His Excellency Ghanam Butti Al Mazrouei, Secretary General of the UAE National Competitiveness Council, where he was welcomed by Staff Brigadier General Saeed Hasan Al Yamahi, Commandant of the National Defence College, Deputy Commander and the College wing commanders.

His Excellency Ghanam Al Mazrouei started his lecture to the participants of the 12th National Defence Course for the academic year 2024-2025 with an overview of the NAFES program, which was launched within the initiatives and projects of the State in 2021, as the program aims to train and qualify UAE nationals to work in the private sector and enable them to fill 170,000 jobs in the private sector within five years.

His Excellency highlighted the achievements made during the first three years of the program, in which NAFES effectively contributed to achieving them.

 His Excellency explained the economic and social dimensions achieved by the program since its launch and the significant impact on increasing the rate of attracting national to work in the private sector. His Excellency also referred to a number of distinguished nationals in the private sector that have proven their ability and competitiveness at work.

At the end of the lecture, His Excellency the Secretary General of the UAE National Competitiveness Council spoke about the most important challenges facing the sustainability of the “NAFES” program and the need for concerted efforts between government agencies and private sector partners to sustain the program and achieve the national goal of its launch.
