On October 2,2013, the NDC hosted Professor Mohammad Sheikh Hassan from the UAE University to lecture on health security under the title “ Health Security: Trends and Challenges” .During the lecture ,the speaker addressed several key issues most importantly health status in the UAE, challenges to public health such as globalization, high toll of passengers entering and leaving the country from various border crossing points, child obesity, and various hazardous chemicals and radioactive substances.
