As part of the Academic Course activities, a field visit to the Fujairah Naval Base was conducted on Wednesday, 7 November, 2018 by the participants of the NDC Course 2018-2019. This visit is particularly important as it could enable the participants to explore the importance of the geostrategic location of the state, straits in general and vital locations in particular, as well as to sightsee Habshan Petroleum Estuary, which is one of the largest strategic projects.
The visiting delegation was headed by Staff Brigadier Tareq Al Zaabi, Deputy Commandant of the National Defence College. He was accompanied by a group of wing leaders, college officers, NDC Course 2018-2019 participants, and faculty members.
Also, it should be noted that the visit aimed to inform the participants of the importance of the Strait of Hormuz as a strategic waterway, as well as to shed light on the expected changes in the strategic environment, whether local, regional or international, and their impact on operations related to oil activities and its sustainability.
