On Tuesday morning, October 12th 2021, H.E. Hussain Al Hammadi, Minister of Education, met the participants of the 9th National Defence Course 2021-2022 in a lecture on “The Policy and Future of Education in the UAE”, where he was received upon his arrival at the college headquarters by H.E. Maj. Gen. Aqab Shaheen Alali, Commandant of NDC and Deputy Commandant of the College, along with NDC Wing Commanders.
At the beginning of his lecture, H.E. referred to the philosophical thought of education in the UAE, as today it is an integrated system of elements in which all authorities, institutions and organizations participate in activating their operational and executive roles. He explained that since 2014, the Ministry of Education has undertaken a new journey for education in the country, which is the integration between all sectors and authorities in this process are in line with the future plans and national strategies of the UAE, which aim at the necessity of qualitative and distinguished educational attainment based on the knowledge economy for all students of all age groups and educational stages from the beginning of their establishment to life.
On the occasion of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Union, H.E. made it clear that there are directives from the supreme leadership issued in setting educational accelerators that will undoubtedly push the journey of the joint educational system forward in a manner that is commensurate with and achieves the country’s plans, development goals and future vision.
H.E. the Minister of Education indicated that it is necessary when creating any new educational system on a strategic level and for future plans; A thorough study of all outputs is necessary in order to develop them in line with the set goals. He stressed that the next stage requires high quality in education, not just numbers. The goal is to develop students' abilities and graduate a new quality that is capable of keeping pace with the challenges and requirements of the future.
H.E. affirmed that the whole world is aware of the fact that “education is the future,” which is indeed what distinguished countries are racing for their progress, survival and continuity. He made it clear that now, with the availability of the elements of artificial intelligence and the presence of capabilities and advanced technology, the years of nations’ progress and development have diminished, so the race has become available for everyone, but it is more intense than in previous years, as everyone can compete after the field was exclusive and restricted to those who export knowledge to us, but today - it has become - a field open to everyone for those who wanted progress, competition and continuity.
At the end of the lecture, H.E. valued the audience's good listening, thanking them for their participation in the questions that enriched the lecture.
