The National Defence College held a lecture entitled "Phenomenon of Extremism and Terrorism and Strategy of Confrontation" presented by Major General Staff Bahjat Mohamed Farid, Director of the National Defence College of the Arab Republic of Egypt. The lecture was attended by a number of the Armed Forces officers and NDC faculty members and staff.
The lecture aimed to explore and understand Egypt’s strategy in combating extremism and terrorism, which led to human and natural resource depletion, and to benefit from this experience in this field, as all countries are working hard to fight and dry up the sources of extremism in all ways and means.
The lecture addressed several ways that the Arab Republic of Egypt has endeavored to eliminate extremism and terrorism which has, for a period, led to a deterioration of the situation on both internal and external fronts. Moreover, Egypt managed to develop a serious strategy and take advantage of the opportunities available in the country, whether security, military or economic to restore its regional and global effective role.
