In a lecture at the National Defence College on Wednesday, January 15, 2020, entitled "UAE Economic Policy", H.E. Engineer Mohammed Ahmed Al-Shehhi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy for Economic Affairs, stressed that the UAE economy has grown continuously over the past few decades and has been marked by stability, future foresight, flexibility, and adaptability to changes in the global market.
The lecture was attended by Major General Staff Pilot Rashad Mohammed Salem Al-Saadi, NDC Commandant, and NDC Deputy Commandant, wing commanders, faculty members, participants of the NDC Course 2019-2020, a number of graduates of previous national defence courses, and participants of the War Course No. (1).
H.E. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Shehhi expressed his thanks for delivering a lecture at the National Defence College to shed light upon the UAE economy, being a distinctive in modernization and keeping pace with the most important trends in the global economy on the basis of the future foresight. He also reviewed several themes that underlined the UAE's unique investment climate and the encouraging business environment, as well as the country's infrastructure, which provided the appropriate venue and economic opportunities for business and investment to strengthen the national economy.
His Excellency pointed out that the UAE economy has achieved remarkable growth during the past years, making it one of the region's most diversified economies today, with active economic contributions of non-oil sectors by more than 70% of the country's GDP, which contributed to the UAE's advanced positions in the world countries economic ranking.
H.E. Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy explained that one of the reasons for these advanced leaps is the various economic policies and initiatives adopted by the country and backed up by effective legislation and laws that are capable of facing future challenges and addressing any economic crises.
At the end of his lecture, H.E. Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy said that the UAE will continue to foresight the future to the best of its abilities and make full use of its human and material resources.
